In February, the Ministry arranged a meeting to discuss Development Aid, and to focus on these questions: Where can we help? How can we make a difference? Who are our participants?
The Ministry had invited NGOs and other participants who, one way or the other, had been involved in aid and developing countries.
The facts that the Faroes should prioritize small projects as well as the importance of the recipient countries’ sense of ownership towards the projects were among the conclusions of the meeting. In addition to this, it was concluded that it would be useful and effective to get involved in small businesses to create some jobs that would improve people’s livelihood.
The Ministry has mainly collaborated with NGOs, and will continue to have NGOs as the primary partners.
